Fescue

Definition: any of a genus (Festuca) of tufted perennial grasses with panicled spikelets

Example sentence: The other day, I was hit in the chest with a golf ball whilst working amidst the fescue.

i love that word! oh my word, no body ever knows about fescue grass....it's my favorite kind. i love to call grass fescue even if it isn't just to say it.....

confusion (?) usually no bad golfers where I work. and believe me, you have a hit a pretty bad shot to hit me from i was standing

you will love this...last nite when i got home my dad and i were chatting about the grass they've just planted by the creek in the back-yard to eliminate erosion (such good conservationists here we are). anyway, in the middle of the conversation i asked if they had used a local prairie grass of some sort (missouri after all has native prairie grasses abounding) and guess what his very off handed answer was? yup, "oh, some kind of FESCUE i'd imagine..." yes, i live in a home where the word fescue is batted about on a daily basis.
